Electrically conductive adhesives

Electrically conductive adhesives (ECAs) are primarily used for electronics applications where parts must be held in place so electrical current can pass between them. ECAs are more versatile and deliver more secure electrical interconnection than soldering.

What is a product tagline and why is it important?

The tagline should include what makes a product unique within its product category. 80% of customers only read the product tagline and often only on the Product Listing Page, so it’s crucial to be both as accurate as possible and keep to the two golden rules of taglines:

Maximum 80-characters limit
No full-stop at the end

Constructing a product tagline

We have a simple formula to help you write compelling taglines for ECAs. And to make it even simpler, the three elements can be in any order:

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your tagline. And remember: no full stop at the end, and max 80 characters.

  • Electrically conductive die-attach adhesive for high-reliability package applications
  • Electrically conductive flexible epoxy adhesive paste
  • Electrically conductive adhesive for microelectronic chip bonding applications
  • Electrically conductive adhesive for robust EMI shielding performance
  • Flexible and shielding electrically conductive sealant and adhesive
  • High strength, electrically conductive adhesive for a controlled bondline
  • General purpose electrically conductive adhesive for high-speed dispensing

What is a short description and why is it important?

Use the short description, in max 2 sentences, to describe what’s specific to the product within its category, and how the product provides value in application. In short, expand on the tagline without repeating it verbatim (and don’t forget a full stop at the end!).

Do not include the product name in the short description.

Constructing a short description

We have a simple formula for writing compelling short descriptions:

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your short description:

  • This 1-part, electrically conductive adhesive – a lead-free alternative to solder – is specially designed for applications with small size components, where no bleeding or wicking is tolerated.
  • This 2-part, solvent-free electrically conductive adhesive is formulated for electronic bonding and sealing applications requiring good mechanical and electrical properties.
  • This 2-part, rigid, epoxy-based adhesive is ideal for heavy duty industry applications. It’s designed to make electrical connections where hot soldering is impractical and room temperature cure is required.

What is a long description and why is it important?

Here you have the space to describe in greater detail all the important technical characteristics. Elaborate on the tagline and short description (verbatim if necessary), and add any important info not yet mentioned.

Constructing a long description

There is no specific formula for writing long descriptions: just start with the product name (remembering the ®) and elaborate in 2-3 sentences details on the product. The first sentence should be the primary differentiators / key features, with the following sentences additional information on substrate compatibility, specific applications, etc. And of course remember to stick to all protocols for measurements, spacing, etc.

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your long description:

  • LOCTITE® ABLESTIK 57C is an easy-to-use, epoxy-based electrically and thermally conductive adhesive. Highly thixotropic to allow manual application via spatula even overhead, it’s ideal for challenging, heavy-duty industry applications, e.g. lightning strike connections to provide additional electrical protection on helicopters. It has an operating temperature of -60°C to 120°C (-76°F to 248°F) and medium shear strength.

  • LOCTITE® ABLESTIK 8700E is a silver, thermally and electrically conductive adhesive designed for hybrid component attach. It’s ideal for gold and gold-plated surfaces, and offers excellent dispensing and printing characteristics with no tailing or peaking. It’s formulated with an epoxy-based resin and cures when exposed to heat.

  • LOCTITE® ABLESTIK QMI519 is a silver, thermally and electrically conductive die-attach adhesive paste for bonding integrated circuits and components to metal substrates. Typically used for QFN, SOIC and SO package applications, it is compatible with a wide variety of metals and ceramic surfaces, copper, silver, palladium and alloy 42. It’s designed to achieve higher UPHs than conventional oven-cured adhesives. Maximum productivity is reached through in-line curing, either directly on the die bonder using a post-die bond heater or on the wire bonder preheater. Studies have also shown that parts cured on the die bonder have improved coplanarity. LOCTITE ABLESTIK QMI519 is formulated with a BMI acrylate-based resin and cures when exposed to heat.

What are USPs and why are they important?

Here you can list the top 3 to maximum 5 things a customer would need to know about the product, based on what they’re most likely to use it for. Try to focus on genuine USPs, rather than generic information you could find in many products. Ensure any regional-specific certifications are included (as a one-off 6th USP if necessary). Only mention thermal conductivity if the product has a (very!) high one.

Constructing USPs

We have a simple formula for writing compelling USPs:

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your USPs (and please note: no full stops at the end):

  • Suitable for noble-finished substrates
  • Prevents silver migration in electronics
  • Pb-free
  • Offers a long work life
  • No post-cure required
  • Thermosetting
  • Low viscosity and low CTE
  • Good for thin wafer handling applications
  • Film thickness: 15 µm and 30 µm
  • Offers high MSL reliability
  • No resin bleed-out
  • Low in-package thermal and electrical resistance

What is meta data and why is it important?

The meta title is the product name, and the meta description is the product tagline. These data influence how pages appear in search results, impacting click-through rates and visibility. Optimizing meta data is important because it helps attract the right audience and improves search engine rankings and, by extension, leads.

Examples

  • Meta title: LOCTITE® ABLESTIK ICP 3535M2
  • Meta description: Electrically conductive adhesive for circuit assembly applications

  • Meta title: LOCTITE® ABLESTIK ICP 3920
  • Meta description: Electrically conductive adhesive for SMD interconnections
