Flexible sealants

Flexible sealants are specifically designed to keep joints and surfaces air- and watertight to prevent leaks and downtime. They are used where substrates are prone to expansion and contraction.

What is a product tagline and why is it important?

The tagline should include what makes a product unique within its product category. 80% of customers only read the product tagline and often only on the Product Listing Page, so it’s crucial to be both as accurate as possible and keep to the two golden rules of taglines:

Maximum 80-characters limit
No full-stop at the end

Constructing a product tagline

We have a simple formula to help you write compelling taglines for threadlockers...

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your tagline. And remember: no full stop at the end, and max 80 characters.

  • Brown, slow-drying multi-purpose gasketing and sealing compound
  • Translucent, highly flexible silicone sealant for the medical industry
  • Black, general-purpose RTV silicone sealant
  • Elastomeric adhesive for joint sealing and bonding dissimilar substrates
  • Multipurpose flexible sealant with excellent humidity cure
  • Flextec™ homogenous paste for elastic bonding and sealing on various substrates
  • Paintable, primerless, odorless adhesive for elastic seam and joint sealing

What is a short description and why is it important?

Use the short description, in max 2 sentences, to describe what’s specific to the product within its category, and how the product provides value in application. In short, expand on the tagline without repeating it verbatim (and don’t forget a full stop at the end!).
Do not include the product name in the short description.

Constructing a short description

We have a simple formula for writing compelling short descriptions:

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your short description:

  • This 1-part, electrically conductive adhesive – a lead-free alternative to solder – is specially designed for applications with small size components, where no bleeding or wicking is tolerated.
  • This 2-part, solvent-free electrically conductive adhesive is formulated for electronic bonding and sealing applications requiring good mechanical and electrical properties.
  • This 2-part, rigid, epoxy-based adhesive is ideal for heavy duty industry applications. It’s designed to make electrical connections where hot soldering is impractical and room temperature cure is required.

What is a long description and why is it important?

Here you have the space to describe in greater detail all the important technical characteristics. Elaborate on the tagline and short description (verbatim if necessary), and add any important info not yet mentioned.

Constructing a long description

There is no specific formula for writing long descriptions: just start with the product name (remembering the ®) and elaborate in 2-3 sentences details on the product. The first sentence should be the primary differentiators / key features, with the following sentences additional information on substrate compatibility, specific applications, etc. And of course remember to stick to all protocols for measurements, spacing, etc.

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your long description:

  • TEROSON® MS 930NA is a 1-part, white, grey or black, moisture-cured, thixotropic silane modified polymer sealant/adhesive. It is designed for elastic seam and joint sealing, and bonding/coating of most metals and plastics. It is primerless and paintable after application. It forms a soft elastic product, provides excellent UV and weathering resistance, and complies with UL QMFZ2 for electrical safety.
  • TEROSON® MS 650 is a 2-part, solvent-free, sag-resistant silane-modified polymer for high/medium strength elastic bonding. You can expect an ultra-fast cure at room temperature, with a high initial bond strength shortly after assembly. Curing begins as soon as the two parts have been thoroughly mixed to form an elastic material. It is thixotropic for ease of use and isocyanate- and silicone-free.
  • TEROSON® MS 9380 is a moisture-cured, high-viscosity, sag-resistant silane-modified polymer adhesive paste that cures to an elastic product. It is free of solvents, isocyanates, silicones and PVC. It demonstrates good adhesion to many substrates. The sealant also demonstrates good UV resistance and can be used for interior and exterior applications.

What are USPs and why are they important?

Here you can list the top 3 to maximum 5 things a customer would need to know about the product, based on what they’re most likely to use it for. Try to focus on genuine USPs, rather than generic information you could find in many products. Ensure any regional-specific certifications are included (as a one-off 6th USP if necessary).

Constructing USPs

We have a simple formula for writing compelling USPs:

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your USPs (and please note: no full stops at the end):

  • Free of solvents, isocyanates, silicones and PVC
  • Good adhesion to many substrates
  • Good UV resistance
  • Broad-spectrum primerless adhesion
  • UL electrical safety standard compliant
  • Suitable for applications up to 204°C (400°F)
  • Forms a tough rubber seal/bond to most surfaces
  • Withstands extreme temperature cycling, UV light, ozone
  • Thixotropic for ease of application
  • Ultra-fast curing

What is meta data and why is it important?

The meta title is the product name, and the meta description is the product tagline. These data influence how pages appear in search results, impacting click-through rates and visibility. Optimizing meta data is important because it helps attract the right audience and improves search engine rankings and, by extension, leads.

Examples

  • Meta title: TEROSON® MS 5510 BK
  • Meta description: Flextec™ homogenous paste for elastic bonding and sealing on various substrates

  • Meta title: LOCTITE® SI 5366
  • Meta description: Clear, flexible, general-purpose silicone sealant/adhesive
