Thermal SIL PAD materials

SIL PAD® thermal conductivity products are soft, conformable thermal pads that improve heat dissipation in a range of electronic assemblies. They minimize thermal resistance from the external package of a power semiconductor to the heat sink, electrically isolating the semiconductor from the heat sink and providing sufficient dielectric strength to withstand high voltage. Designed to maximize thermal performance, they’re also strong enough to resist puncture from the facing metal surface.

What is a product tagline and why is it important?

The tagline should include what makes a product unique within its product category. 80% of customers only read the product tagline and often only on the Product Listing Page, so it’s crucial to be both as accurate as possible and keep to the two golden rules of taglines:

Maximum 80-characters limit
No full-stop at the end

Constructing a product tagline

We have a simple formula to help you write compelling taglines for thermal SIL PAD materials. And to make it even simpler, the three elements can be in any order:

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your tagline. And remember: no full stop at the end, and max 80 characters.

  • Electrically insulating pad - highly compliant soft material
  • Electrically conductive fibreglass-reinforced pad - withstands processing stress
  • Electrically conductive, aluminum foil-reinforced pad - maximum heat transfer
  • Thermally conductive soft pad material with natural tack on both sides
  • Electrically insulating pad - general purpose
  • Electrically insulating, polyimide reinforced pad - high performance
  • Electrically insulating pad - high performance

What is a short description and why is it important?

Use the short description, in max 2 sentences, to describe what’s specific to the product within its category, and how the product provides value in application. In short, expand on the tagline without repeating it verbatim (and don’t forget a full stop at the end!).
Do not include the product name in the short description.

Constructing a short description

We have a simple formula for writing compelling short descriptions:

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your short description:

  • This thermally conductive, silicone insulator pad features minimal thermal resistance and maximum thermal performance. Low mounting stress.

  • This thermally conductive, fiberglass-reinforced silicone insulator pad is suitable for applications prior to soldering and cleaning. Easy handling, low thermal impedance.
  • This thermally conductive, aluminum foil-coated pad is designed for applications where maximum heat transfer is needed but electrical isolation is not required. Low thermal impedance.

  • This fiberglass-reinforced elastomeric material has exceptional thermal performance and low compression force. Available in both sheet and roll form, it’s perfect for automated pick and place process in high volume assemblies.

What is a long description and why is it important?

Here you have the space to describe in greater detail all the important technical characteristics. Elaborate on the tagline and short description (verbatim if necessary), and add any important info not yet mentioned.

Constructing a long description

There is no specific formula for writing long descriptions: just start with the product name (remembering the ®) and elaborate in 2-3 sentences details on the product. The first sentence should be the primary differentiators / key features, with the following sentences additional information on substrate compatibility, specific applications, etc. And of course remember to stick to all protocols for measurements, spacing, etc.

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your long description:

  • BERGQUIST® SIL PAD® TSP 1600 is an electrically insulating material designed for applications that require high thermal performance and low mounting pressures. The fiberglass-reinforced material with smooth surface texture is electrically isolating and ideal for applications requiring low mounting pressures.
  • BERGQUIST® SIL PAD® TSP Q2000 eliminates problems associated with thermal grease, such as contamination of electronic assemblies and reflow solder baths. It can be installed prior to soldering and cleaning without worry. When clamped between two surfaces, the elastomer conforms to surface textures thereby creating an air-free interface between heat-generating components and heat sinks. Fiberglass reinforcement enables it to withstand processing stresses without losing physical integrity. It also provides ease of handling during application.
  • BERGQUIST® SIL PAD® TSP Q2500 is a composite of aluminum foil coated on both sides with thermally / electrically conductive Sil-Pad® rubber. The material is designed for those applications in which maximum heat transfer is needed and electrical isolation is not required. It is an ideal thermal interface material to replace messy thermal grease compounds, eliminating problems associated with grease, such as contamination of reflow solder or cleaning operations. Unlike grease, this product can be used prior to these operations. It also eliminates dust collection, which can cause possible surface shorting or heat buildup

What are USPs and why are they important?

Here you can list the top 3 to maximum 5 things a customer would need to know about the product, based on what they’re most likely to use it for. Try to focus on genuine USPs, rather than generic information you could find in many products. Ensure any regional-specific certifications are included (as a one-off 6th USP if necessary).

Constructing USPs

We have a simple formula for writing compelling USPs:

Examples

Refer to these examples when writing your USPs (and please note: no full stops at the end):

  • Thermal impedance: 0.35°C-in2/W (@50 psi)
  • Eliminates processing constraints typically associated with grease
  • Easy handling
  • Conforms to surface textures
  • Maximum heat transfer
  • Designed to replace thermal grease
  • Aluminum foil coated both sides
  • Natural tack on both sides keeps position secure
  • Suitable for automated pick and place processing from rolls
  • Low compression force due to softness
  • Excellent thermal performance

What is meta data and why is it important?

The meta title is the product name, and the meta description is the product tagline. These data influence how pages appear in search results, impacting click-through rates and visibility. Optimizing meta data is important because it helps attract the right audience and improves search engine rankings and, by extension, leads.

Examples

  • Meta title: BERGQUIST® SIL PAD® TSP A2000
  • Meta description: Thermally conductive, tacky, fiberglass-reinforced insulating material

  • Meta title: BERGQUIST® SIL PAD® TSP 1600S
  • Meta description: Electrically insulating pad - general purpose
